The Hawkesbury Valley Lapidary Club Inc., established in 1964, is a friendly, volunteer-run community dedicated to the art and enjoyment of lapidary. Located in the Richmond School of Arts Annex, the club has proudly operated from this site for more than 45 years, offering a welcoming space for people of all ages and skill levels to explore the world of gemstones and jewellery making.

Our members share a passion for cutting, shaping, and polishing gemstones, crafting unique jewellery pieces, creating gem trees, and discovering the beauty of minerals and fossils. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced hobbyist, the club provides hands-on guidance, free tutoring, and access to a fully equipped workshop.

We offer a variety of classes and activities—including wire wrapping, silver rings and findings, faceting, fossicking trips, and more—alongside affordable materials for members or the option to bring your own. As a community-focused organisation, we aim to inspire creativity, encourage learning, and foster friendships through the shared joy of lapidary arts.
